Merchant FAQ: What is an inactivity fee?

Phone Swipe LogoMobile commerce is a complex business – and as a fellow business owner, you can understand how fast an industry can change. Phone Swipe is dedicated to providing our merchants with a seamless and easy to use pay-as-you-go service. In order to continue providing a high standard of quality for our actively processing merchants, we are implementing a monthly inactivity fee for any inactive pay-as-you-go accounts that haven’t processed a single transaction in the last 12 calendar months. If you have a Phone Swipe account and you haven’t processed a transaction within the last 12 months, you will now be charged a nominal Monthly Inactivity Fee of $3.99.

There are NO changes or monthly fees for our actively processing Phone Swipe merchants. If you are a current and processing merchant, you will continue to pay just 2.69 percent per swiped transaction.

If you have been charged the Monthly Inactivity Fee, but want to keep your account open and avoid the $3.99 Monthly Inactivity Fee moving forward, process a transaction for your business now using your Phone Swipe reader.

If you want to close your account, please click here to complete the cancellation process. The account must be closed by the deadline in the email you've received in order to avoid future charges.
